Applicot flare installed at SSB/SSPC South Furious field that was lighted on Nov 7, 2002. We were awarded with the contract for supply and delivery for 2 identical flare tips (one for South Furious and one for Barton), including ignition system, solar panel and batteries bank. We completed this job within 10 weeks from order placement.

This environmental project has achieved a major milestone within Shell Malaysia as they strived to achieve zero venting/emission by 2002. We and Applicot are very proud to be involved in this project. There are no utilities available in this flare platform which is app. 2,000 feet from the main platform. Therefore, solar panel / batteries and telemetry system are used. Furthermore, there were no pilot gas available. Applicot utilises a special low voltage electrical ignition system and using flare gas as pilot gas to ignite. This is also a major achievement.
